October 2003: Revisiting an old sample
Recently, someone contacted me and asked me to update a sample from
1993, done in version 1.53! Well, it was a simple fix, so I did
it. It's the chiffres sample which illustrates how to record
multiple sounds in a single wav file and play just the bits you need by
using the start/end positions of the portion you wish to hear. The
zip file newchiffres.zip
(983 K) contains the 8.6 toolbook file and the numbers.wav file.

Demo Simple LMS: Part II (the Implementation), Various ToolBook and Web files
Note: I was unable to prepare the documentation I plan to for
the LMS, but will let the ToolBook list know when it is available.
In the meantime, be sure to look at the readme.txt file (Part II) for some basic
information about where things go.
August 2001: ToolBook User's Conference 2001
These samples were created using ToolBook 8.0. Right-click each zip file and save to your local drive. Note: These are updated from last year's -- so, if you download
these, don't bother downloading the same presentations from prior years. Also, the OpenScript presentation includes the dTrack program listed below.

dTrack.zip (511k) "Data Tracking Using INI Files". This is what I call a "sample book". While not a
full-fledged CBT (since it contains no evaluation exercises), this book walks you through a number of concepts and illustrates how to use key functions related to reading and writing INI
files. To be accessible to more developers, I've left this in version 7.1b format. This book addresses issues that are appropriate only for non-web deployment. The zip files
contains a single file: dtrack.exe. To run the book you will need to already have ToolBook installed on your machine (either the full authoring system, or the runtime files) for version
7.1b or later.
