I will be attending and presenting at the following conference:
I will be doing three presentations related to the following topics:
1.  Introduction to OpenScript
2.  Introduction to ADO (to use databases from native ToolBook applications)
3.  Javascript and ToolBook

These are all topics that I have presented in previous years, but I will be providing new samples.

In particular, for the database presentation, I will be providing some supplementary materials on this web site.  These materials will present in some detail the MS Access database I'll be using in my example.  Please check back for more information.

Item #1:  Screen movie (done with Camtasia and saved in swf format) describing the features of the demo quiz database that will be the "back-end" for a portion of the ADO presentation.  Your browser will need the Flash plug-in installed.  NOTE:  Evidently Camtasia has a small problem caused by changes in Flash 8.  You may hear the audio narration start up while the movie is still preloading.  (The movie is about 7 MB in size.)  Just let the movie load, then rewind it and start over.  I've also noticed that the video doesn't stay synched quite right with my narration. (The narration gets ahead of the capture.)  In the future, I'll make shorter movies.  Click here.

Eventually, I'll be putting the actual database up for download.

Item #2:  Screen movie (same format as in #1 above) describing the structure of the demo quiz database.  (About 3.5 minutes, about 720K.)  Click here.
Item #3:  Screen movie (same format as in #1 above) demonstrating how to split the database into front and back ends.  (About 3.7 minutes, about 1300K.)  Click here.
